The Western Canada Onsite Wastewater Management Association (WCOWMA) is the not-for profit organization established to educate, train and certify industry professionals in western Canada.
The association engages its member installers, septage haulers, suppliers, municipalities and provincial government departments to arrive at sound practices that strengthen the industry, and ensure safe and effective septage management for all Western Canada.
Training
The Western Canada Onsite Wastewater Management Association provides an excellent industry training program through its provincial chapters for Onsite Wastewater Practitioners. This training is recognized in the Western Provinces through the New West Partnership Agreement (formerly TILMA).
Home Owners
WCOWMA and its provincial chapters provide resources to homeowners including information on the regulatory framework in their Province, what questions to ask your contractor, common design and installation practices, and proper operation and maintenance practices.
Locate a Pro
Each province provides a listing of those working in the onsite wastewater (private sewage, septic systems) registered with the program. Information includes the region the person works in, their scope of work, contact information, and certification status.
